What is a dedicated server?

With our dedicated server solutions we are custom building you your own physical server on Dell and Supermicro hardware. You will not only have 100% of the server’s resources at your disposal, you will also have 100% control of the server itself via root/admin and IPMI access. These are not virtual servers and you are not sharing your resources with anyone else.

How do I submit a support ticket?

We offer 2 options to open trouble tickets with our support team. The first option is by logging into your myVelocity portal at https://my.hivelocity.net/ , clicking on the Support Center button and clicking “open ticket”. The second option is to simply email support@hivelocity.net from the email address we have associated to your account. It is imperative you send this email from the proper email address or it will not link to your account and we will not be able to assist you.

What does “Buy Down” mean?

Our buy down offers are there to provide our customers with an easy option to lower the monthly cost of a server. For every $500 you pay up front as a “buy down” you lower the monthly price of your server by $50. So a $150 per month server becomes a $100 per month server with $500 paid up front as a buy down. A buy down pays for itself after 10 months of service and each month thereafter is pure savings.

How do I log into my Legacy Reseller Account?

What happens if I go over my dedicated server’s bandwidth allotment?

Each dedicated server we offer includes anywhere from 5,000GB to 20,000GB of monthly bandwidth. You are able to view each of your server’s usage in the MRTG graphs displayed within myVelocity. A charge of $.05 per GB is charged for bandwidth overage. If you see your are approaching your limit you may contact our sales team via live chat, phone or email to discuss an appropriate upgrade option that may save you money over paying for these overages.

Does Hivelocity have it’s own data center or are they colocated?

Hivelocity maintains it’s own data center and is not collocated. The Hivelocity data center is located in Tampa, Florida and has our name on the building. Each of the support technicians, data center engineers, network engineers, developers, account managers, billing representatives and dev ops team members works on-site within a few feet of our raised floor.

Is your data center certified?

We have attained our SSAE-16 certification and our data center is both HIPPA and PCI compliant.
