Network Engineer

Full-Time / Exempt

The Network Engineer is responsible for making sure our networks are tuned to optimum performance, delivering the required information to end-users. This position works closely with the Dev/Ops team to collaborate on new projects with network considerations. This position reports directly to the SVP of Network Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for network design, documentation, and implementation.
  • Tests and documents system behavior, performance, and security.
  • Responsible for traffic engineering, monitoring, designs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Performs network backup according to a regular schedule.
  • Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and resources that standardize the functioning of the network.
  • Responds to support requests for network assistance.
  • Completes all duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced troubleshooting of large networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in a datacenter network environment.
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper Routing and Switching is required.
  • Experience with fiber optic technologies such as DWDM/CWDM a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal (IS-IS/OSPF) and BGP routing protocols a must.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Recent hands-on experience with modern networking including but not limited to Juniper, Brocade, Cisco.
  • Solid understanding of layer 2 technologies (VLANs, Q-in-Q, STP, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of network security.
  • CCNP, JNCIS, or other comparable network certifications a plus, but not required.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and be able to travel to sites throughout the United States.
  • Strong sense of professionalism and active listening skills.
  • Proven project management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Overnight Support Technician

Hivelocity is looking for an experienced NOC Technician to provide technical support to users by researching and answering questions and troubleshooting problems. This is a full-time position located in Albany, NY. Hours would be from 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM.

Responsibilities:
