Sales Engineer

Colohouse, a leading provider of colocation, cloud, hosting and network services is in search of a Sales Engineer. The Sales Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert and technical advisor for our proprietary Private Cloud platform.


Position Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical sales, engineering, or consulting within the Cloud industry and VMware.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical dialog and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with customers/prospects, stakeholders and internal teams.

Position Duties

  • The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth, providing technical support, and fostering strong relationships with clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead qualification, and product demonstrations.
  • Conduct in-depth technical presentations and product training sessions.

Network Engineer

Full-Time / Exempt

The Network Engineer is responsible for making sure our networks are tuned to optimum performance, delivering the required information to end-users. This position works closely with the Dev/Ops team to collaborate on new projects with network considerations. This position reports directly to the SVP of Network Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for network design, documentation, and implementation.
  • Tests and documents system behavior, performance, and security.
  • Responsible for traffic engineering, monitoring, designs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Performs network backup according to a regular schedule.
  • Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and resources that standardize the functioning of the network.
  • Responds to support requests for network assistance.
  • Completes all duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced troubleshooting of large networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in a datacenter network environment.
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper Routing and Switching is required.
  • Experience with fiber optic technologies such as DWDM/CWDM a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal (IS-IS/OSPF) and BGP routing protocols a must.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Recent hands-on experience with modern networking including but not limited to Juniper, Brocade, Cisco.
  • Solid understanding of layer 2 technologies (VLANs, Q-in-Q, STP, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of network security.
  • CCNP, JNCIS, or other comparable network certifications a plus, but not required.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and be able to travel to sites throughout the United States.
  • Strong sense of professionalism and active listening skills.
  • Proven project management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Inventory Associate

Key Responsibilities

  • Scanning, sorting, and testing of inventory stock.
  • Updating stock levels in QuickBooks.
  • Allocating inventory among various Hivelocity locations.
  • Wiping returning drives (HDD, SSD, NVMe).
  • Testing returning RAM.
  • Testing returning raid cards.
  • RMAing hardware.
  • Decommissioning/breaking down servers.
  • Cataloging items to be sold (sorting, bagging, boxing)
  • Take over sorting, stickering of returning inventory.
  • Take over physical inventory counts.
  • Assist with receiving (labeling and stickering SN locations).
  • Assist with large scale projects that require multiple people on hand.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least 18+ years of age
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or associate’s degree
  • No previous inventory experience is necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds if necessary
  • Must be familiar with and able to use Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute.
  • Hardware knowledge is a plus
