Intel’s latest-generation micro architecture, codename Nehalem and Westmere, represents the next step in faster, multi-core technology that intelligently maximizes performance to match your workload. The Nehalem and Westmere procs unleash parallel processing performance enabled by an integrated memory controller and Intel® QuickPath  Technology.

Also included in most Nehalem and all Westmere processors is Intel® Turbo Boost Technology.  Turbo Boost is a way to automatically run the processor core faster than the marked frequency if the part is operating under power, temperature, and current specifications limits of the Thermal Design Power (TDP). This results is increased performance of both single and multi-threaded applications.   Intel® Turbo Boost Technology works automatically under operating system control.   When your server needs a little more power the Nehalem and Westmere Xeon chips deliver it.

Each of these Xeon processors contain up to 12 MB cache.  If you require the power of an additional processor simply open a trouble ticket requesting your server be upgraded to “Dual Processor”.  These servers come with dual socket support and give us the ability to simply “drop in” an additional processor without having to adjust the OS or any other hardware.  With the presence of Dual Processors you will experience the power of  up to 24MB combined cache and unparalleled speeds.
