Regular Full-Time / Exempt

The Network Engineer II is responsible for making sure Hivelocity’s networks are tuned to optimum performance, delivering required information to end-users. This position works closely with multiple other teams to collaborate on new projects with network considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for network design and implementation of network infrastructure.
  • Perform network assessments and capacity planning.
  • Configure and optimize network hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network projects.
  • Configure new peering sessions and audit broken sessions.
  • Manage IP routing and GeoIP updates.
  • Peering session maintenance and high bandwidth peer management.
  • Process new hardware and network infrastructure documentation.
  • Ability to read and understand Visio documentation.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Skills

  • Proficiency in network design and implementation.
  • Experience with network planning and performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced configuration skills.
  • Certifications like Juniper JNCIS-Junos.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management of Information Systems, or related degree, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 3 – 5 years Networking experience.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7/365 scheduled and on-call environment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
